Protests in support of Gaza are spreading in universities in the USA! There are more than 400 detainees

Protests in support of Gaza in the USA have spread to many universities. Students at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, reacted to Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip and called for a permanent ceasefire. The police intervened against the students who set up tents in the school garden.

While the police used pepper gas and electroshock weapons to disperse the students, they detained some students. While it is not yet known how many students were detained during the protest, it was reported that the police detained Economics Professor Caroline Fohlin and Head of the Philosophy Department Noelle McAfee.

More than 400 detained in protests at universities

Support for Gaza has been organized in many universities in the USA since April 18, including the University of Southern California, New York University (NYU), Yale University, University of California, University of Minnesota, Georgetown University, George Washington University and Columbia University. More than 400 students were detained during the protests. It was reported that approximately 100 students set up tents at Harvard University last night.
