Iran has provided military support to Syrian government forces throughout the more than decade-long civil war, but a series of attacks targeting its commanders in recent months have led Iran to reshape its presence, the sources said.
“Iran has withdrawn its forces from southern Syria, including the Quneitra and Daraa provinces adjacent to the Golan Heights, which were annexed by Israel,” a source close to Hezbollah said.
