Turkish citizens have been receiving rejections in their Schengen visa applications in recent months. One of the sectors most affected by this situation is industry.

ASO president said that it was difficult to reach the targeted export rate due to visa obstacles:

“We sign mutual signatures for the free movement of goods, we move our goods freely, but our industrialists who produce them are kept waiting at the border. This application is for us industrialists. ‘non-tariff barrier’ has become. In the Medium Term Program, an export target of 305 billion dollars was set for 2026. How is this goal expected to be achieved when we cannot open up to new markets or exhibit and market products at fairs? Our visa problem has now become much more important than the financing problem. “If necessary, let’s give a letter of guarantee, let the state act as a guarantor, and take the necessary steps to put an end to this problem.”
