Hüseyin Çelik, one of the founders of the party and former Minister of National Education, said in an interview with Serbesiyet that the AKP condemned itself to the MHP and described the alliance with the MHP as a “state of madness”. Çelik said, “MHP has an influence and authority over the government that is 20 times its specific weight,” and attributed the loss of Kurdish votes to this alliance. Çelik criticized Erdoğan and his close circle and argued that the alliance established with MHP made the party lose.

Evaluating the March 31 election results, Çelik stated that the alliance established with MHP led the AKP to its identity line. According to Çelik, for this reason, Kurdish votes for the AKP have bottomed out. Çelik said, ”Our Kurdish citizens were voting for the AK Party, which they did not see as racist and which they saw as closer to them. “But after the AK Party’s alliance with the MHP, there was a huge break in this issue and a significant part of our Kurdish citizens began not to vote for the AK Party,” he said.

On the other hand, Minister Şimşek, who argued that the search for hot money in the USA was positive, broke his silence in the face of criticism from the ‘local people’. Clarifying the word “Locals”, which he used especially during his contacts in the USA, Şimşek commented, “There are obviously malicious circles.”

ERDOĞAN’S EMPHASIS ON THE LIBERATOR CONSTITUTION

Answering journalists’ questions on the plane returning from Iraq, President Erdoğan said, “It is time for Turkey to have an innovative and liberal constitution.” Stating that they will make a proposal for a ‘new constitution’ if he meets with CHP Leader Özgür Özel, Erdoğan said, “There would be nothing more natural than offering him that we can take such a step by discussing these with him if this visit of Mr. Özel takes place.”

Regarding MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli’s statements targeting the DEM Party, Erdoğan said, “The statements made by Mr. Devlet Bahçeli are nothing but the execution of the provisions of the Constitution. The same situation applies to me right now. Whoever tries to violate the provisions of the Constitution “They must be ready to pay the price,” he said. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made a statement regarding the date of his meeting with Erdoğan. Özel said, “We are planning to meet with our President next week and we will request an appointment from them.” Özel said, “For someone to say let’s change the Constitution, you will change it in order to comply with the constitution you are going to change, right? Can it be changed in order not to comply? First, we need to see that you comply.”
