According to the written statement made by the Governorship, teams from the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch of the Police Department carried out an operation to combat gun smuggling throughout the city.
As part of the operation, 16 unlicensed guns and 39 cartridges belonging to these guns were seized during the search of the suspects’ bodies and cars.
12 of the 14 people taken into custody were released after being processed at the police station.
