ADANA – “Sustainability Summit” was held in Adana to raise awareness on carbon emissions and zero waste.

At the summit held with the participation of academicians at Çukurova University (CU) Akif Kansu Meeting Hall, carbon emissions and zero waste issues were discussed.

CU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İlter Ünlükaplan said at the summit that businesses and consumers should work diligently on sustainability.

Stating that investments should be made in renewable resources, Ünlükaplan said, “We must act decisively on climate change. We must also manage water resources effectively and encourage the efficient use of water. Sustainability in the agricultural sector is vital to supply healthy food to future generations.” he said.

Dean of CU Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Serkan Yılmaz Kandır also explained that the concept of sustainability has more than one dimension.

Expressing that all areas are related to the concept of sustainability, Kandır said, “Sustainability is not only related to the environment, climate change and agricultural production. When we talk about the economic dimension of the business, income dimension, consumer dimension, financing dimension and accounting dimension, the list gets longer.” he said.
