An argument broke out in Istanbul between contractor Ömer Öktem and Selin Yalın, with whom he had a religious marriage. After killing Yalın with a single bullet in the head, Öktem called the young woman’s family. Öktem, who said the young woman “committed suicide”, explained the details of the blood-curdling murder in his interrogation.
The terrible incident took place at around 23:00 yesterday in the luxury residence in Kartal, Istanbul. According to the information obtained, Ömer Öktem, married and father of 3 children, shot and killed the esthetician Selin Yalın (39), with whom he had been together for a while, with a gun. 47-year-old Öktem later called Mesut Toğay, Yalın’s brother-in-law, and said that he had committed suicide.
