Orienteering competition was held in Ordu

School Sports Orienteering Junior-Stars Boys-Girls Competition was held in Ünye district of Ordu.

367 athletes from 17 provinces participated in the organization held in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Metropolitan Municipality, Turkish Orienteering Federation, Piccolo Association and Ünye Municipality.

Mayor Hüseyin Tavlı said that they saw the children participating in the races as tourism ambassadors of the city at the event in Cumhuriyet Square.

Stating that the children also had the opportunity to get to know the city during the sports activity, Tavlı said, “Through this, they noticed the beauties of our city and the places to visit. At the same time, they will be our ambassadors to promote our city and district wherever they go. We organized the first one this year and it was enjoyable.” said.

District Governor Ayhan Işık and other relevant persons attended the event where medals were given to the winners of the competition coordinated by the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports.
