Female Mayors Elected in Bilecik and Karasu

--

2 female mayors were elected in the Bilecik Municipalities Union and Karasu Drinking and Use Water Management Union Presidency elections held today.

Firstly, the Bilecik Municipal Union Presidential elections were held in the Bilecik Special Provincial Administration Provincial General Assembly Meeting Hall. After the elections in which all 22 members participated, a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, Dodurga Mayor Selim Tuna suggested Pazaryeri Mayor Zekiye Tekin for the presidency of the union. Then, when there was no candidate among the mayors of İYİ Party, CHP and MHP, Tekin was elected as the President of Bilecik Municipal Union by receiving the votes of all 22 members.

“Hopefully, our only wish will be to introduce our city in the best way possible in the name of unity throughout our country.”

Tekin made a thank you speech and said, “We aim for a beautiful environment in which Bilecik Municipalities Union can carry out activities that will promote Bilecik, in line with its purpose, and in the future, rather than just being a garbage union, both socially and culturally. Our only wish is to organize our city in the best possible way for the sake of unity throughout our country.” “In this context, once again, it will be beneficial for both our union and our province and districts,” he said.

MHP President suggested CHP President

Then, the Karasu Drinking and Use Water Management Association elections started. MHP Vezirhan Mayor Hüseyin Ocak said that the president of this union should be CHP Bilecik Mayor Melek Mızrak Subaşı, that Bilecik uses the most water from this union and that Bilecik Municipality has better facilities. Then, while the union member mayors approved this proposal, Melek Mızrak Subaşı was elected as the President of Karasu Drinking and Use Water Management Association.

“Yes, this union is a very troublesome union, but it is also a very valuable union for all of us.”

In his speech of thanks, Subaşı said, “I believe that we will serve our city together in a period above politics. Because behind this curtain, we have dialogues with each other as brothers and sisters, we have good friendships. I hope we can do good things. This union is, yes, a very troubled union at the same time.” It is a very valuable union for all of us. We continue to get our water from Karasu. Yes, we have started some works for the future. But this does not mean that we will leave Karasu. Karasu will continue to be our lifeblood in our municipality. “There is a serious technical team. But our goal is to set off together with the least damage and continue this path. To act as a locomotive and to intervene faster with our technical team, my friend will explain in more detail about both equipment and materials,” he said.

“Of course, our goal is to ensure that our city has to deal with such problems less and we want to become accountable.”

Continuing his speech, Subaşı said, “When a small water cut does not affect other regions much, the water we purchase from the organized industry as a municipality costs us more than the cost of the union here. Our aim is, of course, to ensure that our city has to deal with such problems less and to be accountable.” We want to come. Of course, our citizens are coming to our door to say that we are paying the water bill and you are responsible for that percentage cut. The citizens are always right. We are also demanding your votes as the union president. I gained experience, albeit a little, by accompanying the elections for about a year and a half. I believe that we should carry this together, just as we are taking the municipalities union together. Our friends elected from the AK Party, the İYİ Party, the Nationalist Movement Party, the Republican People’s Party are saying it everywhere. “We say, we took off our badges and put them somewhere, now it’s time to serve,” he said. – BİLECİK
