There were frightening moments when a fire broke out on the balcony of a flat in Ankara’s Mamak district. While the family in the house threw themselves out, the fire was extinguished by citizens.
The incident took place on the balcony of a building in Mamak’s Akdere district. According to the information obtained, the family of four who were at home when the fire broke out threw themselves out. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene upon the notice of the citizens who noticed the fire, and citizens managed to take the fire under control before the fire brigade arrived.
Tradesman Basri Beldek said, “Our employee said, ‘There is a fire.’ The balcony opposite is on fire. We intervened but we couldn’t do anything. Everyone tried to do something, but it somehow worked out. I saw the fire brigade. There was some material damage. There is no loss of life. “It’s a minor material damage,” he said.
