According to the housing price index data published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) for February, housing prices increased by 58.31 percent this year compared to the previous year. In February, annual inflation in Turkey was recorded as 67.07 percent. Thus, the annual increase in house prices fell behind the annual inflation for the first time since December 2019.

The annual increase in house prices in February was recorded as the lowest annual increase since December 2021. The annual increase in housing prices reached a record level of 189.1 percent in September 2022. According to CBRT data, house prices increased by 2.2 percent in February compared to the previous month. When adjusted for inflation, the real decrease was recorded as 5.1 percent in February.
