MHP Kütahya Municipal Council member Fazilet Kara filed a complaint against MHP Kütahya Provincial Chairman Selçuk Arık and MHP Central District Chairman Ayhan Toy, alleging that they pressured her to resign. In his complaint petition, Kara said, “I am concerned about life safety, I request protection.” Ayhan Toy, on the other hand, claimed that Kara said that he could resign after he said that the ideas of the MHP provincial organization did not suit him and that he did not want to work.

MHP member of the Kütahya Municipal Council, Fazilet Kara, filed a complaint against MHP Kütahya Provincial Chairman Selçuk Arık and MHP Central District Chairman Ayhan Toy to the Kütahya Martyr Mehmet Kartal Police Station, alleging that they pressured her to resign. In his statement to the police station, Kara stated the following:

“… Just before the election, MHP Provincial Chairman Selçuk Alıç and District Chairman Ayhan Toy suggested to me at the meeting within the Provincial Directorate that I should unconditionally swear allegiance to them. After the elections, on 15.04.2024, at the meeting where Ayhan Toy and 10 other council members were present, they made us sign a document requiring us to resign. A few council members and I signed this document. There were also those who did not sign. While we were at the meeting, we said that the document submitted for our resignation was missing and had a historical part. Ayhan Toy also said, “The date section will remain empty, we will fill it in later.” When I asked why, he said, ‘There is no democracy here, you have to abide by whatever our organization decides.’

We were in a meeting at the MHP Provincial Directorate at around 14.00 on April 18, 2024. After I left the meeting, the resignation petition I signed was taken to the municipality and delivered by group representative Aziz Gündüz. I was not aware that the documents were taken to the municipality. After the municipality staff called me due to incomplete information, I learned that the document was taken to the municipality. When I went to the municipality, I took my petition and tore it up. It’s in my hand now. With my own consent, I am submitting the torn petition to you for submission to the file. While I was at the municipality, Ayhan Toy called Mr. Efraim, the Editor-in-Chief, and they had a conversation over the phone saying, ‘How can you deliver his petition back and not put it into effect?’ I also witnessed the meeting.

…They did not give any reason for my resignation. They were the ones who wanted to have me as a council member. They are trying to take away my right to be elected. In the phone conversation we had with Ayhan Toy, he was insistently asking me, ‘Where are you, come here quickly, wherever you are, I’m coming there.’ People named Selçuk Alıç and Ayhan Toy are pressuring me to resign by mobbing me, even though I am an elected person.

…I am a plaintiff and complainant against the persons named Selçuk Alıç and Ayhan Toy who put pressure on me. I am concerned about life safety. “I request on-call protection.”

“FAZILET KARA DID NOT WANT TO WORK HIMSELF”

MHP Central District Chairman Ayhan Toy also made a statement on the issue. Defending that Fazilet Kara said that she did not want to work with the MHP Provincial Organization by stating that the ideas did not suit her, Toy said, “We do not force anyone to work with us. “We told Kara that he could resign if he did not want to,” he said. Stating that MHP Headquarters was also aware of the situation, Toy stated that Fazilet Kara will resign from the party today or tomorrow.
