Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu attended the Trabzon Promotion Days events held under the coordination of the Capital Trabzon Federation of Associations. Giving good news to the citizens of Trabzon at the event held in the Capital National Garden, Uraloğlu came together with Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality officials and announced that they signed the Trabzon Light Rail System Project.

“WE HAVE TAKEN ROOTS ALL OVER TURKEY FOR JOBS AND FOOD IN EVERY AREA THAT OUR COUNTRY NEEDS”

Stating that events such as Trabzon Promotion Days are distinguished organizations that console hearts that are parched with homesickness, Uraloğlu said, “As Trabzon residents, we have rooted all over Turkey for work and food in every field that our country needs. We became workers, we became doctors, we became civil servants, we became soldiers, we became tradesmen, we became industrialists, we became business people, we became politicians. But we kept our culture alive and introduced Trabzon and our identity of being from Trabzon, with the compatriot and mutual aid societies we established wherever we went. They are great opportunities to introduce our history, culture, unique natural beauties of our city and its products. “However, one of its most important features is that it builds a bridge of brotherhood between the place where a person is born and the place where he grows up,” he said.

Talking about Trabzon’s contribution to Türkiye’s economy, Uraloğlu said, “Trabzon today is not the old Trabzon. Our Trabzon is ranked 10th on the list of Turkey’s most livable cities. “It became the city with the highest export among the Eastern Black Sea provinces by exporting approximately 1 billion 58 million dollars in 2023,” he said.

“WE ALSO SIGNED THE PROTOCOL THAT WILL IMPLEMENT THE TRABZON LIGHT RAIL SYSTEM PROJECT”

Giving new good news to Trabzon, Uraloğlu said, “Yesterday, we came together with the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality officials and signed the protocol that will implement the Trabzon Light Rail System Project. Once we make a promise, we keep it. Reaching our Trabzon from Akçaabat to Yomra center; We will provide an urban rail system with a length of 31.9 kilometers and 56 stations, including many important stops such as the City Hospital, Akyazı Stadium, Square, University, Bus Terminal and Airport. We also started the expansion works of our Trabzon Airport. These studies are of course a short-term solution. We also included the new airport project in the investment program. By building a 3,240-meter-long and 45-meter-wide runway, we will have an airport where wide-body aircraft can land. We will be able to host 15 million passengers annually in the 70 thousand square meter terminal building. “When completed, it will be a very valuable work that will serve Trabzon for many years,” he said.
