Addressing the issue of the fight against terrorism, which is expected to be on the agenda, at the joint press conference, President Erdoğan gave the message: “We expressed that we expect more support and solidarity from the German authorities.”

“Our cooperation in the field of tourism is developing day by day. We hosted more than 6 million tourists from Germany in our country in 2023. Our concerns about the anti-foreign, anti-Islamic, far-right and racist organizations that are rising in Germany along with Europe are increasing. What has been happening in Gaza for 200 days I repeated our call for an end to the unprecedented oppression. The Netanyahu government is endangering the security of our entire region, including its own citizens, just to prolong its political life.

“We aim to increase our bilateral trade volume, which has reached 50 billion dollars, to 60 billion dollars in a balanced manner. We want to completely remove the restrictions we face in the defense industry from our agenda. We hope that Turkey and Germany will not talk about obstacles, especially in the field of defense, but about joint production projects from now on. Fighting terrorism.” We expressed that we expect more support and solidarity from the German authorities on this issue.

Steinmeier’s statements are as follows:

“It was very important for me to come to Turkey on the 100th anniversary of the start of our diplomatic relations. As Germany, we will not forget the earthquake victims and will continue to support them. We have to develop our economic relations further; the principles of legal security and the rule of law are very important for this. We come to Turkey with a dynamic, democratic and I wish for a development towards Europe. I want our relations to continue. The developments in the world concern us all. Turkey and Germany are not the only partners and we do not give up on each other, especially in NATO. We must work.

We also discussed the Cyprus issue and the Russia-Ukraine war. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you, Mr. President, to the restructuring conference. Hamas killed 1200 children. If it wasn’t for the October 7 attack, this war wouldn’t have happened. We have to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza, we have to prevent the war from spreading to the region
