throughout Türkiye Chambers of Independent Accountants and Financial Advisors, He reacted to the increasing workload pressure due to the fact that the number of statements and notifications received through professionals is increasing day by day, their contents are becoming more difficult instead of easier, and the systems are not working.

Istanbul Chamber of Independent Accountants and Financial Advisors, which has 55 thousand members in Istanbul (ISMMMO) Hundreds of Financial Advisors gathered in front of the center in Şişli and said, “We are no longer able to even do our daily work and it is at a standstill. “Listen to our voices and implement our demands as soon as possible,” he said.

Speaking here is the President of ISMMMO Erol Demirel, Addressing the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, he said, “Do our colleagues have to die at their desks for you to take our written and verbal applications into consideration?” said. President Demirel pointed out that the burden on Financial Advisors has reached an unbearable level, and while the reduction of the weekly working day to four days is discussed in the world, Financial Advisors are forced to work 24/7.

Demirel, who criticized the fact that almost all data related to economic and social life, which is apparently requested from taxpayers or employers, has become collected through Financial Advisors, continued his speech as follows:

“While this situation causes professionals to be crushed under a very heavy workload, the fact that the systems used to receive declarations and notifications do not work properly and become clogged during busy periods increases the stress of our colleagues who are racing against time. “Our colleagues have become unable to prepare statements and notifications even in routine periods.”

“Inflation accounting is not possible in this environment”

Underlining that it has been a difficult month for 55 thousand Financial Advisors and 130 thousand throughout the country, Demirel emphasized that a total of 56 declarations and notifications will be given in April alone in the tax calendar of the Revenue Administration. Demirel said, “In addition to these declarations and declarations, we do not find it fair and practicable to force the inflation correction procedures, which were last implemented 20 years ago, whose general notification and circular were published only 2.5 months ago, and which still contain many hesitations in practice, to be completed on the same calendar. Moreover, there are only 18 working days in April, including Eid al-Fitr, April 23, administrative and weekend holidays. It is not possible to make so many statements and notifications in such a short time. “Due to the inability to collect information and documents from taxpayers, it is not possible to prepare corporate tax returns in a timely manner,” he said.

Demirel said, “We would like a positive response to our application to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance and the Revenue Administration to not carry out inflation adjustment transactions in the provisional tax periods this year due to the transition period of 2024, the late publication of secondary legislation and excessive density. Likewise, due to the long public holiday periods in April, it is not possible to upload Corporate Tax Declarations and Electronic Ledger Certificates for 2023 on time. “The provisional tax declaration period must be extended,” he said.

“Let the authorities hear this call”

Stating that there is an outrage in the professional community, Demirel said that Financial Advisors are crushed under the heavy workload, their physical and mental health is negatively affected, the unfair wage scale creates inequality and creates an environment that hinders the right to humane life, therefore the authorities should hear this cry. Demirel concluded his words as follows:

“We are no longer able to even do our daily work and it is at a standstill. Listen to our voices and implement our demands as soon as possible.”

“Requests of financial advisors for the proper functioning of the system”

Instead of saving the day decisions such as ‘extending the declaration periods every month’, Mayor Demirel summarized their suggestions and requests to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance in six articles:

Data collected through electronic applications should be classified effectively

The burden of repetitive declarations and notifications containing the same data should be alleviated

Tax declaration periods and periods should be arranged taking into account public holidays.

Data should be shared with all public institutions such as TURKSTAT, Central Bank and Public Procurement Agency.

Declarations and notifications should be simplified and information systems infrastructures should be modernized.

Other professional demands

Professionals above a certain seniority should be given the right to a green passport.
As in international practices, Financial Advisors should also be given the right to mediate.
VAT rate on financial consultancy and audit services should be reduced
All declarations should be required to be signed by Financial Advisors.
Support should be provided for the employment of interns and the insurance premium burden should be reduced.
Professionals should be able to benefit from KOSGEB support programs and loans.
