The International Hadi Poyrazoğlu Puppet and Karagöz Festival, organized for the 3rd time this year by the Hadi Poyrazoğlu Traditional Turkish Theater Association with the contributions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, continues in Ankara.

The festival, which will continue in the capital until tomorrow; It will be held in Istanbul between 27-28 April, and in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, between 29-30 April and 1-2 May. The festival will include local and foreign puppet and Karagöz plays, workshops and the ‘Puppet and Karagöz Exhibition from Past to Present’. Providing information about the festival, Sanem Arıkan, Head of Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and also the Coordinator of the 3rd International Hadi Poyrazoğlu Puppetry and Karagöz Festival, said: “We received international awards. We reached 10 thousands of children. Last year, we performed a free Karagöz show for 25 thousand children, and last year we experienced very tragic events in the earthquake zone. Last year, we visited all 10 provinces in our earthquake zone and met with our children even in tent cities. We hope to reach 25 thousand children this year. Our goal is to make the project the 1st project in the world. Our goal is to convey our identity correctly to our children and to exist on earth as long as the world exists. “This is our main goal, to keep our national and spiritual values ​​alive,” he said.
