3rd grade students of the Faculty of Theology gave the History of Turkish Thought lesson at the grave of Yunus Emre from Erzurum. A. Ü. Faculty of Theology, Department of History of Philosophy, Lecturer Prof., who is also the President of Erzurum History Association. Dr. H. Ömer Özden explains historical and spiritual figures to his students in a practical way in the courses he takes at the faculty. Prof. Dr. Lastly, in the History of Turkish Thought course, Özden took his students to the grave of Yunus Emre from Erzurum in Tuzcu District and gave information about his grave, which is unknown to many people, and his personality and life.
Prof. took his students to Yunus Emre’s grave in Erzurum’s Dutçu (Tuzcu) neighborhood with the vehicles allocated by Palandöken Youth Center. Dr. Özden said that Yunus Emre was not an illiterate poet, but a well-educated intellectual. Prof. Dr. Özden drew attention to the importance of Yunus Emre in ensuring the unity of Anatolia and emphasized the importance of Yunus Emre’s philosophy of love. Yunus Emre’s entire Anatolia; Prof. explained that he traveled to Damascus, Aleppo, Syria, Iraq and Azerbaijan and the surrounding areas in the Caucasus region, explaining his teachings and educating himself during these travels. Dr. Ömer Özden explained that Yunus Emre’s last stop was Erzurum and his grave is located here.

“It has been confirmed that the grave belongs to Yunus Emre”
The tomb located in Dutçu village was first built by İbrahim Hakkı Hz. from Erzurum. Stating that it was discovered by Prof. Dr. Ömer Özden stated that the tomb in question was confirmed by important scientists of the 20th century such as Mehmet Fuat Köprülü, Ziyaeddin Fahri Fındıkoğlu and Abdürrahim Şerif Beygu.

Prof. asked his students to tell the people around them about Yunus Emre’s grave, which they know in this lesson, and to bring their friends and families to Yunus Emre’s grave in Dutçu (Tuzcu) District. Dr. Özden pointed out that Yunus Emre’s tomb has a very important place in the promotion of Erzurum. Prof. Dr. Özden added that Erzurum History Association will also make significant contributions to this promotion. After the lecture, Palandöken Youth Center offered refreshments to the students, and on their way back to the university with their vehicles, Prof. showed in practice that a course can be given not only in the classroom but also in the field. Dr. H. Ömer Özden also thanked Palandöken Municipality Youth Center Director and also Turkish Writers Union Erzurum Branch President Mehmet Gözütok for providing them with such an opportunity. UAV
