The importance of communication was emphasized at the International Western Black Sea Communication Research Symposium, the first of which was held in Zonguldak.

The 1st International Western Black Sea Communication Research Symposium, which aims to bring together different disciplines on the basis of communication, was organized by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Farabi Campus, Faculty of Theology Building, Assoc. Dr. It started in Ali Aslan Conference Hall. The opening speech of the symposium, where the National Anthem was sung after a moment of silence, was made by Assoc. Deputy Dean of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Faculty of Communication, Professor Dr. Hamza Çeştepe emphasized that their faculties carry out their teaching activities with an understanding of innovation. Çeştepe said, “Our faculty, which determines the planning and implementation criteria in the perspective of local, national and transnational needs and developments and puts these criteria into practice with the principles of consistency, carries out both infrastructure studies and teaching activities with an understanding of innovation. Stating that communication is the key to existence in many matters such as sharing, learning and socializing, Çeştepe said, “Communication, which we describe as vital and an indispensable necessity of life in this respect, is the key to sharing, learning, socializing, discovering, getting to know ourselves and others, in short, existence. It is the key to both individual and individual existence.” “If there is a problem or conflict, even on the smallest issue at the social level, the reason is based on communication and the solution is therefore through communication.” Çeştepe added that communication has become a multidisciplinary field and studies on communication are gaining momentum.

ZBEÜ Rector Professor Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer pointed out that the concept of communication is as old as human history. Özölçer said, “I would like to state that we are very happy to host you with such an event in our distinguished university, which prioritizes social, cultural and sports activities as well as engineering and the environment, and in Zonguldak, the capital of labor. As a matter of fact, the concept of communication in general and the education given in communication faculties are the most distinctive One of its features is that it has an interdisciplinary structure. Therefore, we are proud and happy to host valuable invited speakers at national and international levels in this symposium, which is based on the versatility of communication, under the umbrella of communication from different disciplines. “It is undoubtedly the most important tool in transferring knowledge across generations,” he said.

Özölçer stated that communication fulfills many tasks, from providing individuals with a social personality to the transfer of knowledge and culture, from meeting needs to the continuity of social order, and said, “Especially in recent years, social developments in areas such as economy, education, health and technology and experiences that have global effects, communication “On the one hand, the digital transformations experienced in the 21st century require serious changes in communication education, and on the other hand, they require the parties operating in the field of communication to understand the requirements of this transformation in the best possible way and reflect it in their practices,” he said.
