AN AGREEMENT WAS NOT ACHIEVED IN EĞİTİM SEN TİS MEETINGS!
In the statement made by Sosyal-İş Union; “An agreement could not be reached in the ongoing 7th Term Collective Labor Agreement negotiations between our union and Eğitim-Sen. In the negotiations that started in January, an agreement was reached on many articles including general and administrative provisions, while an agreement was reached on daily / weekly working hours, weekly holidays, seniority and wage increases and social payments. It was said that it could not be provided.”
When no progress was made in the meeting held on March 18, 2024, a Dispute Report was kept upon the request of the Eğitim Sen delegation.
During the dispute process, the parties met again on March 29, 2024, after our union called for a meeting to resolve the problems at the table and advance the process constructively. During this meeting, a new offer was presented to the Eğitim Sen management by our union, and the Eğitim Sen delegation stated that they would evaluate our union’s offer. The last meeting was held once again on April 19, 2024, upon the request of Eğitim Sen management. In this meeting, Eğitim Sen management approached our union’s suggestions negatively and stated that they did not have any new proposals regarding the dispute articles. One of the primary aims of Education Sen is to ensure that workers, who are becoming poorer day by day in the face of the government’s inflationary policies, struggle for decent wages and working conditions. The Education Union management, which has an important tradition of struggle among public workers and with whom we have come together many times on the basis of social struggle, needs to reconsider its attitude towards the demands of its own employees in this respect. As a result of our evaluations with our authorized boards and members, it has been decided that the process will be carried out on the basis of democratic action until our demands are answered.
