ADANA, (DHA)- 12th International Orange Blossom Carnival Chess Tournament in ADANA will be held on 19-21 April 2024, at ASKİ Atatürk Sports Hall, Adana Metropolitan Municipality, Adana Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate, Turkish Chess Federation Adana Provincial Representation and Carnival Committee. was held in the organisation.

The opening ceremony of the tournament was held with the participation of Adana Youth and Sports Provincial Director Muzaffer Çintimar, Adana Metropolitan Municipality bureaucrats, Adana Chess Provincial Representative Demir Gündoğdu, members of the press, parents and guests. More than 400 athletes from 18 different provinces participated in the tournament held in 4 different categories. The tournament is also the sports organization with the widest participation of the carnival.

Turkish Chess Federation Adana Provincial Representative Demir Gündoğdu said, ”Hundreds of chess enthusiasts from all over Turkey came to experience the carnival excitement with chess. “On behalf of our chess family, I would like to thank Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, who provided us with this opportunity and gave great support to the spread of chess in our city,” he said.

The awards were awarded in a great excitement that lasted 3 days and 7 rounds in 4 different categories. Adana Metropolitan Municipality distributed Participation Certificates and Medals to all athletes participating in the tournament, and Cups and a total of 101 thousand lira cash prizes were distributed to the successful athletes.
