The first step was taken in the Turkish Grand National Assembly in line with the efforts initiated by the government for savings measures in the public sector.

Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, cabinet members, MPs and Turkish Grand National Assembly bureaucrats went to the April 23 ceremony held in Anıtkabir yesterday by bus instead of official vehicles.

It was stated that the use of buses was carried out “to prevent official vehicle congestion” and within the scope of saving measures.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his statement to journalists on the plane returning from Iraq yesterday, made remarkable statements about public savings. Erdogan stated that steps were taken to increase the welfare of the nation and underlined that unnecessary expenses would be eliminated.
