Mehmet Selim YALÇIN/SİLOPİ(Şırnak),(DHA)- April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day was celebrated in a festive atmosphere in Silopi district of ŞIRNAK.

April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day was celebrated with various events in Silopi district. District Governor Cihat Koç and his wife Nurdan Koç, 172nd Armored Brigade Commander Brigadier General Osman Akyıldız, Chief Public Prosecutor Muhammed Ensar Bulutoğlu, District Police Chief Saffet Özdemir, students, their parents and citizens attended the event. After the wreath presenting ceremony held in front of Silopi District Governorship, the celebrations continued at the city stadium. The meaning and importance of the day was explained in the program. Then, poems were read and the students performed various local folk dances. While the celebrations were taking place in a festive atmosphere, families filmed the program on their mobile phones, creating an interesting sight. The event ended with a parade. (DHA)
