Meteorological Warning: Strong Wind and Storm are Expected in Burdur and Its Districts

According to the latest evaluations made by the 4th Regional Directorate of Meteorology, strong winds and storms will affect Burdur and surrounding districts on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. It is estimated that the speed of the winds, which are expected to blow from the south and southwest directions, will vary between 40 and 60 km/h, and may reach up to 70 and 80 km/h for short periods.

It is predicted that this severe weather event will negatively affect transportation, causing roofs to fly and dust to be blown. Residents of the region and relevant institutions are called to be careful and cautious against possible negativities.

Wind speeds are classified as strong wind, storm and full storm:

• Strong Wind: 39-61 km/h (10.8-17.1 m/s, 22-33 knots)
• Storm: 62-74 km/h (17.2-20.7 m/s, 34-40 knots)
• Strong Storm: 75-88 km/h (20.8-24.4 m/s, 41-47 knots)
• Full Storm: 89-102 km/h (24.5-28.4 m/s, 48-55 knots)
