Izkitapfest-Izmir Book Fair, hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and organized in cooperation with İZFAŞ and SNS Fuarcılık, offers unforgettable experiences to Izmir book lovers with the main theme of “Children’s Literature” on its fifth day. Readers and writers from Izmir stated that they had the open book fair they had been waiting for a long time. Writer Aydın Şimşek stated that Izmir is a street city and therefore the Book Fair in Kültürpark was a very correct decision. Author Şimşek said, “People do not like closed spaces in Izmir. The open air always embraces Izmir, and the people of Izmir also embrace the open air. That’s why we are having a much busier fair than I expected. This fair has been held in Gaziemir Fair Izmir for the last 3-4 years, but Izmir Book Fair has been identified with Kültürpark for about 20 years. Stating that the Izmir Book Fair has been held in Gaziemir Fuar Izmir for the last 3-4 years, 22-year-old Gülce Hasar said, “I have been going to the Book Fair since my childhood, especially the atmosphere of Kültürpark brought back the old days of the Book Fair. Being outdoors was also a very nice experience for me. I also find the works I am looking for. “There is an explanatory information at the door entrance, and that information made my job much easier,” he said.

8-year-old Defne Büyükdoğaç, who said that she preferred the Izmir Book Fair to find the book series she wanted, said: “Cartoon and fairy tale books attract my attention. I liked this place very much. “I’ve attended the book fair before and today was a lot of fun,” he said.

Tuğba Kocabıyık, who attended the Book Fair held in Kültürpark with her 2-year-old daughter Kumsal, said, “I came for children’s books. This year the fair is going on with a different enthusiasm. The options are many; “We have met our needs adequately,” she said.

Atıl Gedik, who participated in the Book Fair themed “Children’s Literature” with 3 books he wrote, said, “We missed the old fairs very much. Kültürpark seemed very nice to us. There is a very good participation. Our goal is the development of children. “For this, they need to read a lot of books,” he said.
