Lavrov and Bolivian Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa Lunda, who was visiting Russia, met in the capital Moscow. The two ministers held a joint press conference after the meeting.

Lavrov, “Together with Bolivia, we oppose the attempts of some foreign powers to intervene in the internal affairs of Latin American countries, especially Venezuela and Nicaragua.” he said.

Lavrov evaluated Argentina’s intensification of its military presence on the Bolivia border and its desire to become a partner of NATO. “The statements that NATO is a defensive alliance are lies. Many countries in the world understand the threats related to this and that this situation will be used in the interests of NATO.” he said.

Bolivian Foreign Minister Lunda also stated that the USA is blockading Cuba, Venezuela and other countries. “We are in favor of building a multipolar world order under the leadership of democratic institutions.” said.

Emphasizing that they oppose the US establishing military bases in Latin America, Lunda stated that his country is in favor of peace.

Referring to the Palestinian issue, Lunda said, “We want the protection of the most vulnerable people, women and children, who died as a result of the conflicts in Israel and Palestine.” he said.
