Even though new steps have been taken, the Schengen visa problem continues in a knot.

Previously, appointments could be made weeks later, but now appointments can be made months later.

So much so that in some consulates the closest date for an appointment may be two and a half months later.

While the visa problem of Turkish citizens with European Union countries could not be solved, a remarkable decision came from the EU.

The EU aims to increase investments from Gulf Arab countries; Gulf Arab countries have relaxed visa rules for Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain.

EU Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Christophe Farnaud said that the new application will strengthen relations between the EU and the Gulf countries.

Noting that visa periods have been extended, Farnaud stated that the change in visa regime is an indicator of strategic relations.

INVESTMENT RECEIVING POLICY

The decision is part of the EU’s policy to receive more investments from Gulf Arab countries.
