Gangs have taken over leading universities” after student protests in the USA spread to Harvard University. The US State Department argued that these statements were not a call for pressure.

The US State Department stated that it did not agree with the view that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement regarding the pro-Palestinian protests at US universities was a “call for repression”.
Vedant Patel, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, answered journalists’ questions at the daily press conference.
Asked whether Netanyahu’s words were a call for pressure on protesters protesting in favor of Palestine at US universities, Patel said, “I will leave it to the prime minister’s office to explain his (Netanyahu’s) comments, but I do not believe he called for pressure.” He replied with these words:
Asked whether Netanyahu’s words amounted to a foreign leader intervening in the domestic politics of the United States, Patel replied, “I cannot put this on the same level as intervention.” It was like this.
