The fire on a dry cargo ship in the Dardanelles was extinguished

Ship traffic in both directions was temporarily suspended in the Dardanelles.

In the fire, a Syrian national among the ship’s 14-person crew was injured.

The injured, who was brought to the shore by Coast Guard Boat “KB 73”, was taken to Çanakkale Mehmet Akif Ersoy State Hospital.

The fire was extinguished as a result of the work of the Coastal Safety teams.

After the cooling works were completed, the dry cargo ship was anchored in the Dark Port area under the escort of the Coastal Safety teams.

With the ship towed to the safe zone, the Dardanelles was opened to transit ships in both directions.
