A 21-year-old young woman, who suddenly fell ill after drinking the coffee she bought from a vending machine at the airport, nearly died.

The young woman, who works for an airline and whose name was not disclosed by the Spanish press, bought a coffee from the vending machine at Son Sant Joan airport, near the city of Palma, Majorca, on Monday.

The woman, who noticed that the coffee tasted strange as soon as she drank it, had the shock of her life when she looked into the cardboard cup. The glass was filled with a swarm of insects. As soon as she noticed the bugs, she called the company to which the vending machine belonged, and the company told the woman it would refund the 50 cents for the coffee.

The woman, who went to the toilet because she felt nauseous, was not aware of the seriousness of the situation until that moment. However, when he started to feel dizzy, he asked his friend for help.‘I can not see’ He lost consciousness minutes after saying this.

According to the Spanish news site Ultima Hora, the woman lost consciousness shortly after drinking the coffee and her face began to swell. The unfortunate young man, whose throat was closed and had difficulty breathing, was given adrenaline in the ambulance.

HE REMAINED IN INTENSIVE CARE FOR 36 HOURS

The woman, who was declared to have anaphylactic shock, was kept in intensive care for 36 hours. While her boyfriend told the Spanish press that the doctors told him, “Be thankful that no body was found,” the young woman, speaking from her hospital bed, explained that she experienced the hardest moments when she was given first aid and taken to the intensive care unit: “At that moment I got worse, my head hurt so much, every part of my body was cramping.”

THE FAMILY COMPLAINED

According to Ultima Hora, the woman’s family filed a complaint with the airport management. The airport announced that the vending machine in question was removed from use and that the incident was an injury caused by carelessness.
