Chikli, who is in the ranks of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party, made evaluations about the agenda in a radio program in Israel. Criticizing US President Biden despite his support and arms aid since the beginning of the attacks on the Gaza Strip, Chikli said, “(Under Biden’s leadership) the US cannot reflect its power. This harms Israel and other countries.” he commented.

Chikli said, “Biden said, ‘Don’t start a war with Hezbollah and Iran.’ We saw the result. If I were a US citizen with the right to vote, I would vote for Trump and the Republicans.” he said. Arguing that Biden is a friend of Israel but is under pressure from people who influence him, Chikli said that this situation “damages” the relations between Tel Aviv and Washington.

The Israeli press noted that Chikli’s statements regarding US domestic politics came hours after the Biden administration approved a $26 billion aid package to Tel Aviv, mostly military. The US Senate approved a foreign aid package worth 95 billion dollars, including 61 billion dollars of military aid to Ukraine and 26 billion dollars of military aid to Israel, and sent it to the White House.

Biden had stated that he would sign the bill as soon as it came to his desk and that they would send military aid to Ukraine and Israel as soon as possible.
