As we enter the summer months, local tourists accelerate their holiday plans. It seems that price increases in touristic areas in Turkey are driving holidaymakers abroad. Tourism professionals state that the demand for international travel has increased by more than 50 percent compared to last year.

Of course, the key word for a holiday abroad is ‘visa’. Visa problems continue in many countries. For this reason, holidaymakers focused on visa-free overseas options. This year’s favorites were the Balkans, Egypt and Dubai.

Hamit Kuk, Chief Advisor to TÜRSAB President, stated that countries that do not create visa problems are preferred and said, “Regions that do not require a visa or where visas can be obtained very easily are preferred. Since they provide easy visas to the Balkan countries and Dubai, the demand is very high. Especially many people go to Dubai. “In the past, there were only flights from Istanbul, but now there are direct flights to Dubai from Antalya,” he said.

Güray Günay, General Manager of Tatil Shop, said that they expect the interest in international tours to increase even more during the summer holidays and said, “This year, there is especially high demand for Macedonia, Belgrade and Montenegro. “In addition, the Far East, Thailand and Phuket are also at the forefront,” he said.

INTEREST IN MOROCCO HAS EXPLODED

-Kaan Karayal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tatilsepeti, said: “There is a visible increase in food and beverage prices, especially in touristic areas in Turkey. This had an impact. Demand for international travel has increased by over 50 percent. European countries continue to see demand, but unfortunately, due to visa problems, this demand cannot be fully met. Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt is in high demand this year, as it does not require a visa and its prices are more affordable, and it represents a serious alternative to Balkan tours and especially beach hotels in Turkey. Starting from last October, Dubai was the star of the autumn-winter-spring season. It is fair to say that Turkish tourist records were broken in Dubai, especially during the semester and Ramadan holidays. “Another explosion in demand is experienced in Morocco tours,” he said.
