Work to determine the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia continues. Following ground measurements made by expert groups from both countries, the coordinates were determined and the first border stone between Azerbaijan and Armenia was placed.

“EXPERT GROUPS CONTINUE THEIR WORK”

In the statement made by the office of Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Şahin Mustafayev, Co-Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Armenia Border Determination Commission, “Today, the process of determining coordinates based on geodetic measurements in the border region has started. Expert groups from the two countries continue their work. “This process was carried out on the basis of the agreements reached as a result of the negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia regarding the solution of border problems,” he said.
In the meeting held between the two countries on April 19, the first stage of the delimitation process was carried out, and a preliminary agreement was made to return 4 villages under Armenian occupation to Azerbaijan and to continue the border determination work.

Accordingly, a preliminary agreement was reached that Bağanis, Voskepar, Kirants and Berkaber settlements would be returned to Armenia, and the Azerbaijani villages under Armenian occupation, Bağanis Ayrım, Aşağı Eskipara and Heyrimli Gızılhacılı, would be returned to Azerbaijan and the borders would pass through this route.
