However, his real personality had frightening features. Brown, who was actually a father of one, was a sadistic murderer who enjoyed extreme violence and brutally killed two women in a dungeon he built with his own hands on a completely isolated farm.
TARGETED VULNERABLE WOMEN
His targets were 32-year-old Leah Ware and 34-year-old Alexandra Morgan. These two women could not have imagined that they would be gruesomely murdered by Mark Brown. Because from the outside, Brown had a trustworthy personality and a persuasive method in his own way. He was always finding ways to make someone else love him. It was not difficult to choose your goals and get involved in their lives. He would do all kinds of things for them, but in reality, it was all part of his tactic to bring them all under his control so he could use them as he saw fit. It specifically targeted vulnerable women. He found Leah Ware and Alexandra Morgan through a website used to have sexual intercourse in exchange for money, using different e-mail addresses.
He lured Alexandra, a single mother, to the dungeon he had prepared with his own hands, with the promise of a non-sexual job worth 100 thousand pounds (about 4 million liras). Believing she had found a way to build a better future for her two children, Alexandra’s internet searches revealed she was researching how much money she would need to pay for a house deposit and start her own business.
HER BURNED BODY WAS FOUND IN THE BARREL
In November 2021, Alexandra told her parents she was going to the spa for the weekend, but met Brown at Little Bridge Farm instead. When he did not return, his mother raised the alarm and informed the police. Cops later found his charred remains at a construction site where Brown was working, in an oil drum he was trying to get rid of.
When police began investigating Alexandra’s disappearance, they had no idea about the second victim, Leah Ware. A prescription for Leah was found in Brown’s car, leading them to realize she had been missing for 6 months. Leah met Brown in March 2018 and moved to the farm in his travel trailer after they developed a relationship. Police soon discovered that Brown had been manipulating Leah and keeping her locked in a self-made shipping container on the farm. Leah was one of the women he met online and had sexual intercourse in exchange for money. Over time, Brown developed a relationship in which the woman was dependent on him. He almost tried to be a father, to take care of her. His intention was always to choose someone and make them completely dependent on him.
‘IT’S LIKE OUT OF A HORROR MOVIE’
Before having relationships with women, Brown had been searching porn sites, regularly using terms such as rape, beating and coercion. She most likely rented Little Bridge Farm because of its isolated location. The full truth about Brown, who once described himself as the ‘wolf in the sheep field’, was revealed in a TV documentary.
Brown, who said he was a conscientious psychopath, sexually abused his victims by giving them terrible moments in the dungeon he carefully built on his farm, where no one could reach them. Police officers who uncovered the case said the farm was like something out of a horror movie and was one of the most grisly crime scenes they had investigated in their careers. Detective Neil Kimber, who handled the case, described what he saw as follows:
“It was the most unforgettable place I’ve ever been to. The further I went, the worse it got, the more grisly it got. There’s a shipping container in the workshop, and there’s a little space in it. You can’t get a cell phone signal in there. It drops. You look up and say, ‘Something happened here.’ “He’s in total control. His victims can’t call anyone, can’t text anyone, can’t do anything. It’s basically like a cocoon. When I saw the bolts outside, I literally said, ‘Oh my God, this is where it happened.’ You only see things like that in horror movies.” .”
HE CONFESSED THE MURDERS WITH A MESSAGE
Police officers also found the farm full of trash that Brown had hoarded. This confusion explained the personality of the murderer. He kept the trophies, he wanted to keep everything together, he wanted to be in control of everything. He did this to Leah too. Mum-of-three Leah was also part of her collection at Little Bridge Farm. There he was too, locked away with everything he owned.
Phone records pinpointed the exact moment Leah’s cell phone was murdered at Little Bridge Farm in May 2021. Brown later confessed to a former schoolmate that the single mother was dead at the time of her disappearance.
‘I DID MONSTERLY THINGS, I AM A PSYCHOPATH WITH A CONSCIENCE’
In messages shown during the hearing, Brown was seen telling his friend he ‘felt like a wolf in a field of sheep’. Brown’s messages were proof that he confessed to the murder. The message he wrote to his friend included the following statements:
“I’m trying to laugh it off, but it’s a very unpleasant thing; the old oil drum, 5 liters of diesel, there’s not much left. The weather is getting warmer. The oil drum is glowing almost white. You go through many stages in a situation like this. I’ve done monstrous things. The things I’ve done have touched my heart, my head.” And it puts a heavy burden on my soul, I’m a psychopath with a conscience.”
This chilling message led officers to conclude that she killed both women, even though Leah’s remains were never found. Mark Brown was found guilty of murdering both women at Hove Crown Court in England in 2023 and was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment.
