While Russia’s occupation of Ukraine left 6 months behind, it was claimed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski, who wanted to increase the sanctions against Russian citizens, rented his luxury villa in Italy to the Russians.

PAID 50 THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR ONE MONTH

According to the news of the Italian newspaper Il Tirreno, the Ukrainian leader rented his house in Tuscany to the Russians for a month in August. It was stated that a Russian couple living in London paid 50 thousand dollars to stay in the villa for a month. The Italian newspaper wrote that the photos of the luxury villa shared by the couple on social media also confirmed the situation.

OBJECTS TO GIVING VISA TO RUSSIAN

It was noteworthy that the news came at a time when the Ukrainian leader called on EU leaders not to issue visas to Russian citizens. The Ukrainian leader bought the luxury house in the coastal town of Forte dei Marmi for 4 million euros when he was still an actor.

REAL ESTATE DENIED THE CLAIMS

Speaking to Corriere Della Serra, one of the leading Italian newspapers, the real estate agent denied the claim and said that the tenants were not Russian, but could not make any further statements due to the privacy of their private life. An eyewitness said the couple spoke Russian. The newspaper stated that the tenants were most likely of Russian origin, but they lived in England and were British citizens. EU countries agreed to suspend the previously signed visa facilitation agreement with Russia at the informal meeting in Prague, the Czech capital, yesterday. The proposal not to grant visas to the Russians, as Zelenski had requested, was rejected due to the objections of members such as France, Germany, Greece and the Greek Cypriot Administration.

HE SAID “RUSSIANS SHOULD LIVE IN THEIR OWN WORLD”

Zelenski said last month that Russians should be banned from entering EU countries and said “Russians should live in their own world for a while until they change their minds”. In a statement he made in March, the leader of Ukraine said that the Italian government should confiscate all Russian assets, houses and yachts. It is claimed that Zelenski has a large sum of money in his account abroad and houses in London, as well as the villa in Tuscany.
