WhatsApp, the communication application used almost all over the world, made its last major update in May last year. In this update, messages were allowed to be edited up to 15 minutes after they were sent. WhatsApp has more than 2 billion users by 2024. This application had already been implemented by Telegram and Signal, rivals of the messaging application. WhatsApp is part of US technology giant Meta, which also owns Facebook and Instagram. In 2022, Elon Musk’s social media platform Twitter said it was giving paying subscribers the ability to edit their tweets. Tweets may be edited multiple times within 30 minutes of being published.
TO BE USED WITHOUT INTERNET
In the details revealed by screenshots taken from WhatsApp’s Android beta version 2.24.9.22, it was recorded that users were communicating with each other even without internet access. This version demonstrated the ability to share various file types, such as photos and documents, with nearby WhatsApp users over a local network (Nearby Contacts feature).
SECURITY WILL BE MOVED TO THE HIGHER POINT
WhatsApp states to users that with this method, file sharing will be encrypted end-to-end and security will be taken to the next level. There is no statement from the company about this feature, which is currently in the testing phase.
