Panathinaikos Head Coach Ergin Ataman made harsh statements after losing 91-87 to Maccabi Tel Aviv in the first match of the THY EuroLeague play-off series.
Ataman noted that although they lost against Maccabi Tel Aviv at home, they would win the series and advance to the Final Four, and used the following statements.
“It doesn’t matter that we are 1-0 behind. I promise you, we will go to the Final Four. If we cannot go to the Final Four, I will not be at Panathinaikos next season.”
The match schedule of the play-off series that Panathinaikos will play against Maccabi Tel Aviv is as follows;
Thursday, April 25: Panathinaikos – Maccabi Tel Aviv
Tuesday, April 30: Maccabi Tel Aviv – Panathinaikos
Thursday, May 2: Maccabi Tel Aviv – Panathinaikos (If necessary)
Wednesday, May 8: Panathinaikos – Maccabi Tel Aviv (If necessary)
