27 Neighborhoods Are Being Quarantined in That Province! Rabies Cases Have Gone Out of Control

With the increase in rabies cases in Defne and Antakya districts of Hatay, quarantine will be implemented in 27 neighborhoods.

According to the Harbiye Gendarmerie Command, rabies cases have been detected in the Harbiye District of Defne district. Authorities stated that a number of measures should be taken to prevent the spread of these cases.

Hatay Medical Chamber President Sevdar Yılmaz said that the confirmed cases so far are only in Döver District of Harbiye district. However, he stated that they also received information about several other cases. Yılmaz emphasized the seriousness of the situation and announced that special attention will be paid to areas where stray animals and livestock are concentrated and that the situation in 27 neighborhoods will be investigated.

Sümerler, Armutlu and Harbiye headmen’s offices have not been officially informed yet. Headman of Harbiye İlker Aşkar stated that citizens reached them and they are investigating the situation. However, he stated that they plan to get more information by meeting with the authorities. It was emphasized that the public will be enlightened with up-to-date information during this process.
