Mauro Icardi, who came very close to making Galatasaray champions for the second time in a row with the goals he scored, is also writing his name in the club’s history.

The Argentinian star, who played 53 matches in the Super League under the yellow-red jersey, contributed to 57 goals with 42 goals and 15 assists.

By contributing 1.07 goals per match, Icardi came to the top among foreign football players who played in at least 20 matches in Galatasaray’s history. Thus, Tangoist managed to overtake many important names.

He also left Jardel behind

Second on the list is another great striker, Mario Jardel. The Brazilian star scored 22 goals and made 3 assists in 24 matches.

While Adrian Ilie ranked third with 12 goals and 14 assists in 30 matches, Gheorghe Hagi, one of the greatest legends in Galatasaray’s history, remained in fourth place with 59 goals and 49 assists in 132 league matches.

Another thing that the yellow-red fans cannot forget, Milan Baros ranked 5th with 48 goals and 15 assists in 88 matches. Names such as Gomis, Roman Kosecki, Didier Drogba, Dean Saunders and Radamel Falcao were also behind Icardi on the list.
