IMM celebrated April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day with organizations that lasted throughout the day in different parts of the city. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality President Ekrem İmamoğlu, who participated in many of these programs and shared the April 23 enthusiasm, made the final of the holiday together with the Istanbulites who filled Üsküdar Square. What did we say? We said, ‘Sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the nation.’ We said that the Turkish Grand National Assembly represents the will of the nation. What has happened in this country since that day? We said, ‘Whatever the people say will happen.’ In this country, no one can rule despite or disregarding the nation. No one can take orders from anyone other than the nation.
