Housing Price Index data for the period of February 2024 was announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey.
KPI (2017=100), which is calculated to monitor price changes excluding the quality effect of houses in Turkey, increased by 2.2 percent compared to the previous month in February and reached 1216.
While KPI increased by 58.3 percent on an annual basis in February, the decrease in real terms during this period was 5.1 percent.
Looking at the KPI change for the three major provinces, an increase of 1.5, 2.0 and 1.6 percent was observed in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, respectively, in February compared to the previous month.
Index values increased by 45.6 percent in Istanbul, 72.9 percent in Ankara and 57.4 percent in Izmir compared to the same month last year.
