Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, it was determined that the network, including doctors and 112 Emergency Call Center employees, received a large amount of benefits in return for referring babies to the number of babies that the neonatal intensive care units of the private hospitals they are affiliated with could operate at full capacity.

It was determined that doctors Fırat S. and İlker G acted jointly with the 112 Emergency Call Center employees they were in contact with. It has been determined that 8 thousand TL per day is paid to that private hospital by the SSI Presidency for each baby patient staying in neonatal intensive care units, and for this reason, private hospitals continue to keep the babies deliberately referred from 112 emergency services in the hospital intensive care unit for the maximum number of days for which SSI pays, even if they have recovered. was done.

DOCTORS’ IDENTIFICATIONS WERE RENTED

Doctors who are required to be in the intensive care units of hospitals 24/7 do not keep them in the intensive care unit in order to avoid expenses, and the doctors whose IDs they rent only so that their names appear in the official records show their names on the documents, but when the HTS records of the doctors who appear to be working in the intensive care units in the documents are examined, the conditions of especially baby patients become worse. It was determined that the doctors appearing on the duty list on these days were at completely different points. In addition, it was determined that nurses were employed in intensive care units, that nurses told each other on the phone what intervention they should take in emergency situations, and that nurses introduced themselves as doctors during inspections or when patients’ relatives wanted to meet with the doctor.

SEARCH WAS CONDUCTED IN 6 HOSPITALS

As a result of the examination of the evidence obtained during the investigation, a total of 300 suspects were identified, and a detention order was issued for 41 people for whom concrete evidence was obtained. The police took action thereupon and carried out simultaneous operations in Istanbul and Tekirdağ. While 38 suspects were caught during the operations, 45 digital materials, various patient reports and documents and 55 boxes of newborn medicines were seized during searches at residences and workplaces. It was learned that searches were carried out in 6 hospitals within the scope of the operation. Police teams continue to work to catch 3 suspects. It was noted that the suspects’ proceedings at the police station continue for the crimes of “establishing an organization to commit a crime”, “qualified fraud”, “committing intentional murder through negligent behavior” and “bribery”.
