Mukhtars Federation, which operates under two different roofs in Muğla, decided to gather under one roof at the meeting hosted by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras, with the initiatives of Mayor Aras.
The two federations, chaired by Muğla Provincial Mukhtars Federation President Hayretten Akay and Muğla Mukhtars Federation President Kadir Gümüş, decided to gather under one roof at the meeting, with the initiative of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras.
Stating that Mukhtars are the most important bridge between local governments and citizens, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras stated that the single-handed provision of services to citizens will increase even more with Mukhtars serving under one roof.
As a result of the negotiations, it was decided to unite the Mukhtars under the roof of the Muğla Mukhtars Federation, and since the President of the Muğla Mukhtars Federation, Kadir Gümüş, was not re-elected as the Mukhtar in Kozağaç District in the 31 March elections, a new president will be elected at the extraordinary general assembly with elections to be held in the upcoming period.
Hayretten Akay, President of Muğla Provincial Mukhtars Federation, said, “While the problems of Mukhtars were discussed at the meeting hosted by our Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras, attended by the Headmen’s Association President of our 13 districts and two Federation Presidents, the merger of two separate federations under one roof was brought to the agenda. The merger decision was made in the voting on this proposal of our esteemed Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Aras. A new president will be elected at the extraordinary general assembly within the next three months. I believe that coming together under one roof will strengthen our hands as muhtars, both locally and in general. “Good luck,” he said.
