Provincial Employment and Vocational Education Board Meeting was held under the chairmanship of Giresun Governor Mehmet Fatih Serdengeçti. Giving information about employment at the meeting held, Giresun Labor and Employment Institution Provincial Director Mustafa Sarı said, “In 2024, a total of 10 thousand 730 job-seeking citizens, 5 thousand 227 women and 5 thousand 503 men, applied to the institution. In the same period, 32 people from the public sector and 32 people from the private sector applied to the institution.” A total of 2,403 vacant job requests were received, 2,371 from the sector. During this period, a total of 1,777 unemployed citizens, 3 of whom were public and 46 disabled and 1,731 normally unemployed, were placed in private sector workplaces in the first 4 months. The total number of public and private sector workers employed reached 1,780 people. A total of 769 unemployed citizens, 499 women and 271 men, participated in 69 courses and programs organized during this period. In addition, 47 people participated in 30 On-the-Job Training Programs opened in private sector enterprises operating throughout the province. A total of 77 unemployed citizens, 30 women and 30 men, participated in 39 TYPs organized within public institutions and organizations. A total of 692 unemployed citizens, 451 women and 241 men, participated. “During the period, within the scope of employment mobilization, 1,347 employers were contacted through contact and visits, and information was provided about the services provided by the institution within the scope of combating employment,” he said. – GİRESUN
