Ankara“Reliable Food” operation in Turkey: Approximately 9 tons of products were destroyed

ANKARA – Approximately 9 tons of milk and delicatessen products that were not suitable for consumption were seized in the operation carried out in Mamak district by Ankara Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry teams.

Ankara Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry teams took action upon a notice received on the Alo 174 Food Line affiliated with the General Directorate of Food and Control of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. With the support of Ankara Provincial Gendarmerie Command Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch teams, an operation was carried out on the business in question operating in Abidinpaşa District of Mamak district. During the operation, 6,889 kilograms of kashar cheese, 1,575 kilograms of vegetable margarine and 257 kilograms of sausage, most of which were moldy, spoiled and did not have mandatory label information, were detected.

The seized products were destroyed

12,500 labels were also found in the business to be pasted on the products. It was determined that the fake labels in question would be attached to the products before they were put on the market. While approximately 9 tons of products seized by the teams were destroyed, an investigation was launched into the incident.
