An interim decision was announced at the second hearing of the Isias Hotel case held in Adıyaman.
In the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, 31 tourist guides staying at the İsias Hotel in Adıyaman and 35 people, including 25 children, from the TRNC secondary school volleyball team, lost their lives.
The first hearing of the case involving 11 defendants, five of whom are detained, regarding the Isias Hotel was held on January 3. Two of the detained defendants were released on condition of judicial control as a result of the detention review conducted by the 3rd High Criminal Court.
The second hearing started at Adıyaman 3rd High Criminal Court.
TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, who came to the city with his delegation for the second hearing of the case. “We trust the justice of the Republic of Turkey” said.
Ruşen Karakaya, President of the Champion Angels Keeping Alive Association, stated that a new process has been entered in the case and that they came to Adıyaman for the second hearing and said: “We trust the guidance of science in this case. “We believe in the power of social conscience as well as the rule of law.”
According to ANKA news, the court panel announced the interim decision.
It was decided to continue the detention of the detained defendants Ahmet Bozkurt, Mehmet Fatih Bozkurt and Erdem Yıldız.
Gaziantep Bar Association’s request to participate in the case was rejected.
It was decided to send the file to a technical university as much as possible for the new expert report.
The next hearing will be held on June 12, 2024.
