A cooperation protocol was signed between Kastamonu University and Kazakhstan’s Karaganda Buketov University.
Kastamonu University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, accompanied by Foreign Relations Office General Coordinator Assoc. Dr. He visited Karaganda Buketov University in Karaganda, Kazakhstan, together with Mustafa Öztürk Acaoğlu and Lecturer Mehmet Bolluk. A protocol was signed at the ceremony held to strengthen the cooperation between the two universities and to carry out joint studies.
The talks and signing ceremony were attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, Deputy Rector Prof. on behalf of Karaganda Buketov University. Dr. EM Tajvaev, Head of the Rector’s Office Serik Kalkamanov and many academics attended.
With the agreement signed between the two universities, double degrees will be granted between Kastamonu University Faculty of Tourism Tourism Management Department and Karaganda Buketov University Faculty of Economics Department of Tourism, as well as Kastamonu University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures and Karaganda Buketov University Faculty of Philology Departments of Kazakh Language and Literature. Cooperation including programs will be provided.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Kastamonu University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal stated that the Mevlana Program cooperation, which started in 2022, was expanded with this protocol and they believe that the signed document will further strengthen the historical and cultural ties between the two countries through academic cooperation. Rector Topal emphasized that the protocol will allow universities and countries to know each other better and use their cooperation potential more effectively.
Deputy Rector of Karaganda Buketov University EM Tajbaev stated that they believe that such collaborations will increase the cultural and academic experiences of students and academics and will contribute to the deepening of relations between Turkey and Kazakhstan. During the meetings, opportunities to develop cooperation between the two universities were also discussed. The delegation, headed by Rector Topal, visited the Saryarkinsk Archaeological Museum, Laboratories of the Faculty of Physics and Technology and Karlak Museum. On the second day of the visit, Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Öztürk Akcaoğlu made a presentation about Kastamonu University to the university administration, faculty management and Turkish Language Department students within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 Project in the Turkish Language Class at the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
After the visit to Karaganda Buketov University, Rector Prof. Dr. The delegation, headed by Ahmet Hamdi Topal, met with Turkish Ambassador to Astana Mustafa Kapucu and Education Counselor Ömer İnan. Asuman Ergün, from Karaganda Buketov University, also attended the meetings.
During the meetings, cooperation opportunities and potentials between Türkiye and Kazakhstan in the field of education were discussed. Rector Topal emphasized his determination to share Turkey’s experiences and achievements in education. Ambassador Mustafa Kapucu stated that the educational cooperation between Turkey and Kazakhstan will make significant contributions to the development of both countries and that such visits are instrumental in further strengthening relations.
Education Counselor Ömer İnan also stated that collaborations, especially in the fields of language and culture, will contribute to the deepening of relations by building bridges between students and academics.
