People living in coffee houses in Rize’s Hemşin district were invited to a march organized to draw attention to healthy living.

District Governor Furkan Dinçer, Mayor Halim Kazım Bekar, Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Ramazan Öztürk, Deputy Head of Public Health Salih Yıldırım, Green Crescent Rize Branch President Selçuk Beşikçi and citizens attended the “Healthy Life” walk organized by the Green Crescent Rize Branch.

Participants of the event, which started from Hemşin Square Park, walked on Atatürk Street with banners in their hands.

Citizens sitting in the coffeehouses along the route supported the march upon the invitation of the participants.

Ali Kenan Pehlivan, who participated in the march with a tea glass in his hand, told reporters that his only addiction was Rize tea.

District Governor Furkan Dinçer stated that Green Crescent is an important non-governmental organization.

Pointing out the importance of the fight against addiction, Dinçer said, “Hemşin is one of the smallest districts of Turkey. We can immediately see the reward of the work we do here. We held a healthy life walk under the leadership of our youth. We invited our citizens to the cafes with the beautiful examples of our elders, it was a nice walk.” said.

Dinçer explained that they were warmly welcomed in the coffeehouses and said, “When we entered the coffeehouse and explained our purpose, they supported us. I think they also liked this dynamism. It was a nice day when we walked together. We are more addicted to tea than cigarettes in the region. We love tea. Let’s just continue our addiction to tea, avoid all other addictions.” Let’s stay away.” he said.

Beşikçi, Head of the Green Crescent Branch, pointed out that healthy living is one of the avenues in the fight against addiction and said, “Laziness is one of the worst addictions. We organized marches and festivals to mobilize people. We invited the people in coffeehouses and on the streets to our march. There was a very good participation. ” made his assessment.
