Presidency Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün stated that military and civilian training simulators for air, land and sea platforms will be produced in the New Generation Simulator Production, Training and Testing Center (SİMMER), which was opened with the support provided to SİMSOFT company, and said: “On the established production line, depending on their size and “The production and integration of 10 simulators will be possible simultaneously, depending on their type.” said.

In his speech here, Görgün stated that HAB’s 1st stage works started in the last quarter of 2017, and that 43 companies that started actual production in the first stage carried out their activities in a total closed area of 253 thousand square meters. Görgün pointed out that the importance of simulation technologies has increased in the world in recent years and stated that this is considered a critical technology within NATO.

Explaining that the military simulator and training systems market size exceeded 9 billion dollars in 2022, Görgün said: “This figure is expected to exceed 12 billion dollars by 2027. With the credit support provided by our Presidency to our company SIMSOFT, SIMMER, which we will open today in HAB, will produce military and civilian training simulators for air, land and sea platforms, hardware integration, research and testing activities. “The production and integration of 10 simulators will be possible simultaneously on the established production line, depending on their size and type.” said.

Explaining that the design, production, integration and testing of motion systems with different capacities and degrees of freedom in simulator systems can be carried out, Görgün pointed out that in addition to original software solutions, the development and production of hardware and electromechanical systems will also be carried out. Görgün stated that studies will also be carried out in the R&D areas of the facility and made the following evaluation:

“In R&D fields, research, development and testing activities of next generation imaging systems that will increase the realism of the outside world image and sensor (such as thermal, night vision) image simulations in simulators, strengthening of military weapons and training systems by using virtual and augmented reality technologies, and providing assistance to the authorities in need.” “Work will be carried out on the production of innovative solutions to meet operational needs, system designs for military operational area situational awareness, interoperability and effectiveness analysis, and autonomous platforms based on artificial intelligence and internet of things (IoT) technologies.” said.
