Ali Öztoklu, who was elected mayor from the Re-Welfare Party (YRP) in the March 31 Local Government General Elections in Konya’s Doğanhisar district, announced that he resigned from his party. In his written statement, Öztoklu stated that he was elected as the Mayor of Doğanhisar from the Re-Welfare Party with the support of the citizens.

The most important reason for taking this decision is that I believe that I can implement more effective and comprehensive projects as an independent mayor on this path I have set out for the development and prosperity of our Doğanhisar. For this reason, I respectfully inform you, my dear fellow citizens and the public, that I have resigned from the Re-Welfare Party and will continue on my way as an independent mayor, and I expect your support and prayers.” said.
