CHP Deputy Asu Kaya expressed the rebellion of earthquake victims in Osmaniye

(ANKARA) –CHP Osmaniye Deputy Asu Kaya visited Kaypak village of Osmaniye, which continues to experience the effects of the earthquake. Kaya said, “I call out to those who laid foundations in the road, to those who could not even lay a foundation and determine a place for housing: Hear the rebellion of the earthquake-affected villagers.”

CHP member Asu Kaya listened to the villagers during her visit to Kaypak village, where promises were still not kept after a year after the earthquake, and said that she would bring their problems to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

In his statement, Kaya said, “We have entered the second year of the earthquake, our villagers from Osmaniye have been trying to make their voices heard to the government since the earthquake. Our villagers, who have been living in tents and containers since the earthquake and struggling to make ends meet with a salary of 10 thousand liras, are waiting for their promises to come true.”

Stating that they urgently expect the government to take concrete steps to solve the problems of Osmaniye villagers, Kaya said:

“Those who said (We will make on-site transformation, we will give 750 thousand TL loan and 750 thousand TL grant) have still not kept their word, and when those who have become eligible go to the bank, they are met with the answer ‘There is no money’. Osmaniye villagers continue to live in water-permeable containers with no toilets, come, See how they try to hold on to life.

I call out to those who laid foundations on the road, or to those who could not even lay a foundation or determine a place for housing: Hear the rebellion of the earthquake-affected villagers. Stop drawing satellite plans for lands you have never seen from where you live in Ankara. We still have villages where you cannot lay a foundation or even determine a place for housing. I am calling out to the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change: The earthquake victim looks the same as you left it in its second year. Earthquake victims now want humane living conditions. “The villagers of Osmaniye are waiting for their voices to be heard.”
